Lela Tsurtsumia - Lazic Album


Lela Tsurtsumia (February 12, 1969) is a Georgian pop singer. She's popular since 1999 and nowadays is the most popular Georgian singer. Her's music is more pop and soul, but there's tunes of ethno/folk music. Earlier in her career, some electronic tunes too. e.g her track "Idumali Game" was remixed by DJ AKA.

Lela Tsurtsumia was born in Tbilisi, Republic of Georgia. Spouse - Kakha Mamulashvili (Mamulicha) economist, manager. They have one daugther - Mariam. Her mother, Nino Lomtadze, is foreign language teacher (English) and father, Ludvig Tsurtsumia, is a physician. She has two sisters, Khatuna (biologist) and Eka (teacher). In 1975-1986 Lela Tsurtsumia studied in primery school #77. Than she has finished School of Estrada and Circus in Tbilisi. Afterwards she entered The Institute of Theatre of Shota Rustaveli and finished faculty of Music and Actor. In 1999 she has recorded her first video on her song "Rad mindoda". In 2002 Lela started working with the label "Art Imedi". Lela has won more than 15 prizes in varous festivals.

Her concert in 2000 was the first show concert in Georgia, held by Georgian singer. In 2002, Tsurtsumia had another successful show at Tbilisi Sport Hall, more than 25,000 spectators attended the show, it was record. Another record was in 2004, when she released the popular album Suleli Tsvima (Crazy Rain), which sold more than 60,000 copies in Georgia. Tsurtsumia also has sold more than 10,000 albums abroad, in Israel, U.S., Russia. Tsurtsumia's song's are covered in other countries. E.g, In Armenia] she's so popular, that songs like "Samba" and "Love Story" charted #1 in Armenia and were covered by Armenian singers. After 2006 Tsurtsumia appears on stage only with her live jazz-band. On 11 August 2006, she had live concert in Zugdidi in front of more than 40 000 people. In 2007 Tsurtsumia released her first live album called LIVE - Lela Tsurtsumia. "Never seen before quality of live performance and post-production in Georgia" - told one Georgian music magazine reviewer in review. In 2007 Tsurtsumia signed label Art Lend and her albums were distributed on some European e-stores, such as The Orchard.

In 2006 Lela begins to form her live band. After two months rehearsals Lela and band began touring Georgia, they had two concerts in Greece, Athens. After that they were invited to held "Imedi TV" sessions. This was live concert, which was recorded and than released as DVD and CD, called LIVE - Lela Tsurtsumia.
